CLUB HISTORY

Netball, or basketball as it was first known, was first played on the area, graded and levelled by the Yankalilla Memorial Park Committee, at the rear of the bowls club.

Teams were first established in the late 1920's. Matches were played against Myponga, Wattle Flat, Willunga, and Aldinga, and were usually umpired by teachers from the local schools.

The clubs colours were originally Green and White. In 1953, with the Great Southern Basketball Association's permission they changed it to Black and yellow, the same colours as the football team.

In 1973 the name basketball was changed to netball.

There was no club rooms for the netball club, but combining with members from the tennis club a building was constructed and opened in April 1975.
